Pokoje 2018
In 2018, Pokoje underwent a number of important changes. For the first time, more than forty site-specific installations were united under the single theme “Echoes”, and one of the rooms was newly dedicated exclusively to student performances. The exhibition was also enriched with an accompanying program, involving prominent figures and organizations from the Czech visual arts scene.
Already in the summer, a Walk through Action in Stromovka took place, featuring a lecture by Pavlína Morganová and a performance by Lucie Doležalová and Viktor Dedek. During the exhibition, creative writing and art criticism workshops were held in cooperation with the Věra Jirousová Award, led by Ondřej Buddeus, Lenka Vítková, and Anežka Bartlová with Tomáš Klička. A series of lectures dedicated to non-gallery exhibiting was also organized, featuring Lenka Klodová, Marie Klimešová, Tereza Rudolf, Šárka Zahálková, and Tomáš Knoflíček.
To enhance critical reflection, a new Jury Award was established, recognizing the three most successful projects. The main Jury Award went to Listening to Other People’s Emotions from the Department of Graphic Creation and Multimedia (UHK). Second and third places were awarded to Panacea from the Department of Visual Design (UJEP) and Vtopstavu from the Department of Graphic Design (UJEP).
The project Panacea also received recognition in the Audience Voting, taking first place. Second and third places in the audience vote were awarded to Inner Voice from the Seho Studio (FA ČVUT) and There is Only One Fashion Bible from the Department of Clothing and Textile Design (UJEP).
In 2018, the event was held under the auspices of the Prague City Hall, the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM), the Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague, the Technical University of Liberec, the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Ostrava, the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, the Faculty of Art and Design, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, and the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
