Pokoje 2019
Idiosyncrasy – Collaboration – Curating were the main themes of Pokoje 2019, building on the transformation of the exhibition in 2018. The common theme of the student installations this year was IDIOSYNCRASY—exploring questions of uniqueness, difference, specificity, and originality in art.
A new feature was a room curated by invited curator Magdalena Jadwiga Härtelová, offering a theorist’s perspective on the young art scene. During the exhibition, a range of accompanying programs took place, including lectures, workshops, performances, and guided tours.
As part of the lecture series on collaboration in art, contributions were given by artist Darina Alster on behalf of the group Mothers Artlovers, Eva Pelechová, director of the International Ceramic Symposium, the initiative Respekt Madam, and the duo Barbora Fastrová and Johana Pošová.
Each day, visitors could also join the Curatorial Meeting Point, engaging in discussions about contemporary art and the curatorial profession.
In addition to the traditional Audience Award, a Jury Award has been given since 2018. The winners of 2019 were:
